Monkey forest is a small forest inhabited by hundreds of benign monkeys so that you can play with them and feed them.

Monkey forest is a protected forest area where at there you can see a sacred Hindu temple of Bali. Anyway, the surname attractions of Ubud monkey forest is Mandala Wisata Wenara Wana, but today known as the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary.

Ubud Monkey Forest is owned by the villagers of Padangtegal and Wenara Wana Padangtegal Foundation as Ubud Monkey Forest managers which are also working to preserve the sanctity of this park and promote the sacred site as a tourist destination.
Monkey Forest has an area for about 8 acres and is located next to the local cemetery. Therefore, you are not allowed to do bad things in this holy place.

Ubud Monkey Forest is located at Jalan Monkey Forest, village of Ubud and approximately 1 km from the village center or about 26 km from Denpasar -Show on map. If you depart from the international airport to the location of Ubud monkey forest, it needs for about less than one hour.

  • Do not hit or hurt the monkeys, this will make the other monkeys will attack you.
